Ion-X filters have been specially designed for PetSafe Viva and Outlast fountains. They allow for easy replacement of used filters and maintain the fountain's filtration system for weeks, whether it is used by a dog, a cat, or multiple pets at home.
Their operation is based on a dual filtration system. Activated carbon helps reduce tastes and odors in the water, while the ion exchange system helps soften the water and limit mineral buildup. A BPA-free plastic pre-filter also helps capture hair and larger debris before they circulate through the fountain.
The pack contains 4 filters. PetSafe recommends replacing each filter every 2 to 4 weeks depending on fountain usage and water quality, which provides up to approximately 4 months of supply with a single pack. They are exclusively suitable for PetSafe Viva and Outlast fountains.
